What is Single Sign On?
Single Sign On (SSO) is a powerful option that you can use to replace our standard login with your own system and is the first step to greater integrations in your app!
This is perfect for people who already have their own website that requires users to create their own user accounts in order to access all of its functions. Using Single Sign On will allow, not only current users but new users registering on your site to utilize the same credentials to access the elements of your app that also require a log-in.
You can also use Single Sign On to take advantage of your own system’s structure when creating custom features and integrations for your app. This can help give you and your users seamless communication between your system and ours.
How Can Single Sign On Help You And Your Users?
Some of the benefits of using Single Sign On are:
All of your pre-existing user info is usable within the app
Everything from your system is securely connected and usable in your app
With Single Sign On, you have almost limitless possibilities in terms of custom integrations with your app
What Is Required To Set Up Single Sign On?
First, you need to make sure that you are under the plan that allows this service, otherwise, you will see the message under the login screen asking you to Upgrade
In order to set up Single Sign On for your app, you’ll need to have your IT team do some work on your system’s side of things. Setting up this functionality varies by the system so the process will be different for you than it would be for someone else.
Here's how to navigate to these settings:
Find the Security tab on the left-hand panel and click "Login Screen":
Under Login Screen, select Settings Tab and Enable "Custom SSO":
You will see these fields populate once you enable SSO login:
Log-In API URL & Register URL
The Log-In API URL is the URL for the page that users go to in order to log in to your system, and the Register URL is the URL that new users go to in order to register for a new account in your system.
Access Token Validator API & Reset Password API
The Access Token Validator API URL is the URL to a page that includes an access token that’s generated by you or your system, that tells us we have permissions to access it. The Reset Password API URL is the URL for the page where users can reset their account’s password.
Reset Password Message
The Reset Password Message is a message that will be sent to the user once they initiate the process of resetting their password.
Client ID & Client Secret
The Client ID and Client Secret are generated for you by your team or system and allow our system to communicate with yours. This should be given to you by your developer or website administrator.
The Content Type is the format that your URL is generated in. Select the format that your system generates the URL in from the drop-down provided.
