  • Real Estate apps can use the Folders in the Image Gallery to display different listings
  • Church apps can use the Image Gallery to display song and hymn lyrics

What is the Image Gallery’s primary function and what are the steps to accomplish it?

As its name implies, the Image Gallery feature was designed to give you the ability to add a slick and easy to use image gallery to your app. First we’ll go over first how to upload images and organize them in the Image Gallery, then we’ll go over some of the things that users can do with the images in your Gallery.

How To Add Images To The Image Gallery

If you would like to add an image, or multiple images, to your Image Gallery click on the “Add Image” button:

This will open up the Media Library where you can select from the list of images that you’ve already uploaded, upload new images, or select stock images to add to your Image Gallery.

How To Organize Images In Your Image Gallery

If you would like to organize the images in your Image Gallery we give you the option to add Folders to the gallery. To do this click “Create Folder”:

Then give the Folder a name in the “Folder Name” field.

Once you have given the folder a name click on “Select Images”:

Then select all the images that you’d like to add to that folder and click “Add”.

Once you create a folder, or folders, for your images a new option will appear at the bottom of the Image Gallery which allows users to toggle between viewing all images and the folders.

Next, let’s go over some of the options that users have when viewing images in your Image Gallery.

Users Can Switch Between An All Images View And A Folders View (If You Have Folders Set Up)

As we mentioned before, you can set up folders for the images in your Image Gallery which is a great way to organize your images. You can also have the same image in more than one folder if you’d like, such as an image that falls under multiple categories. To toggle between the All Images and Folder views, users just need to tap the option at the bottom of the Image Gallery feature:

Users Can Pinch-Zoom On Images And Share Them

When viewing an image users can pinch-zoom on images which allows them to view the images in more detail on their phones, and if there’s an image that they really like, they can share that image to various platforms by tapping the Share icon above an image:

Congratulations! Now you know how to use the Image Gallery, and how your users interact with it!

What are some Pro Tips you should know about to take your app to the next level?

Having worked with apps for years, we’ve learned a thing or two. So, to both help your app stand out and accomplish your primary goals, here are some tips you should consider.

Pro Tip 1: Use Folders To Organize And Categorize Your Images

Over time your Image Gallery will fill up with images which is a perfect reason to use Folders in the Image Gallery to organize and categorize your images. Have a fashion app where you showcase lots of collections? Folders are a perfect way to separate the collections within the Image Gallery!

Pro Tip 2: You Can Pinch-Zoom On Every Image

Thanks to the ability to pinch-zoom on every image, you can use the Image Gallery for more than just photos. Have documents that you’d like your clients to see? The Image Gallery might be the best option for you. All you need to do is save those documents as either JPG or PNG files and add them to the Image Gallery.
