Getting Started With My Event App
Everyone loves going to events! be it conventions, music festivals, parties at a club, a fair, or any number of other public gatherings, and an app can be a great tool to not only make your event’s information easy to access, but can be a great way to keep attendees of your event engaged year-round. In this article we’ll go over some features in our system that will help enhance your event!
What Are Some Great Features To Use Inside Your Event App?
When you’re first navigating through our system, it can be a bit daunting thanks to the vast possibilities of what can be done with your app. That's why we’ve put together a list of some features that you can start off with which we feel will help get you on the right path to creating an amazing app for your event.
My Event Is Coming Up. What Features Should I Use To Help Attendees Learn About And Register For My Event?
What’s the most important information for any event? When and where is it going to be. With our Places 2.0 feature, you can not only show attendees where the event is going to be held, but if you have a multi-day event like a convention, you can use that feature to show local places to eat and stay. This can also be a great way to sell sponsorship space as it allows local establishments to make themselves known and gives you some additional revenue.
You can also show the dates of your event with our Events Manual and Events Feed features. The Events Manual Feature allows you to manually input events into the in-app calendar via the App Dashboard, while the Event Feed Feature allows you to add events to the in-app calendar by syncing it with an iCal link. These features can also help provide a schedule of the event for attendees and is perfect if you have panels at your convention, or musical acts performing throughout the day at your music festival.
You can also use the People feature to give attendees information about your event’s guest speakers, celebrity attendees, or performing artists. You can also use the Contact Us feature to give attendees the ability to contact your organization with any questions they may have about your upcoming event.
One way to give attendees the ability to register for your event is with our TypeForm, JotForm, or Google Form features. With any of these features you can bring in a registration form so that attendees can fill the form out and register for your event. Or if you’re charging for attendance, you can use the WebView feature to send people to your registration page so that they can pay the attendance fee.
Are There Any Features That Can Help Enhance Attendee’s Experience While My Event Is Going On?
While attendees are at your event there’s a number of features that you can use to enhance their experience while at the event. While they were initially built with businesses in mind, the Loyalty and Coupon features can help encourage attendees to see more of your event.
Have lots of booths? You can use the Loyalty feature to reward attendees who go to the most booths. With the Loyalty feature, users can rack up points to use towards rewards that they can redeem while at the event. The Coupon feature can also help encourage attendees to visit more booths, and can be a great way for you to sell advertisement space for the businesses that set up booths at your event.
You can also share videos with the YouTube and Vimeo features. Using a music festival as an example, this can be a great way for attendees to acquaint themselves with the artists that will be performing. With our Media Center Manual feature you can bring in audio as well as video, and if your event has an RSS feed, you can use our Media Center RSS Feed feature to bring that feed into your app.
If you have panels at your event, you can use the Seminar & Lecture Notes or Google Slides features to bring in the panel’s content. The Seminar & Lecture Notes feature has the added functionality of allowing users to bookmark and take notes on specific entries in the feature.
Another great way to connect with your attendees is through Push Notifications. With our system you have complete control over your notifications. You can send out scheduled notifications, create notification groups that deal with specific topics that users can subscribe to, as well as set up automatic notifications. We also have the GeoFence feature that allows you to send out locations-based notifications. Have a show coming up in a couple of days? You can set up a notification to trigger whenever someone gets within a certain distance of your event which can remind them of upcoming artists or panels at your event.
What Are Some Features That Can Help Keep The Attendees Of My Event Connected Throughout The Year?
Your event may only happen once a year, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t use your app to keep users engaged with what they experienced at your event. Did you have a conference to discuss clean energy? Why not use the Media Center RSS Feed feature to send people articles on the subject year-round.
Our Push Notifications are another great way to notify people of new articles on the subject. You can also use the Social Wall to foster communication between attendees and continue the discussions started at your event long after it has ended.
You can also bring in your event’s social media pages like Facebook with our Facebook feature, Twitter with our Twitter feature, and Instagram with our WebView feature. This allows you to bring all of your social media pages into one place making them more easily accessible for your attendees.
These are just a small handful of features that you can use in your app to help expand your reach as an artist, but we have many more in our system. We encourage you to check out all of the amazing features that we offer in our system so that you can make the best app for your brand.
