Getting Started With My Music/Entertainment App

There’s no question about it — in the past couple of years, there have been many strides in technology which have helped revolutionize the music and entertainment industry. From discovery to distribution to pricing — the changes that have occurred over the last decade have been ground-breaking. We truly believe that mobile apps are the next natural step in helping you promote your brand. In this article we’ll go over some of the best features to use in our system to help you get your name out there and foster interaction with your fans.

What Are Some Great Features To Use Inside Your Music/Entertainment App?

When you’re first navigating through our system, it can be a bit daunting thanks to the vast possibilities of what can be done with your app. That's why we’ve put together a list of some features that you can start off with which we feel will help get you on the right path to creating an amazing app for your brand.

Which Features Can Help Me Connect With My Fans?

With the Social Wall Feature, you can create a Social Wall that can act like your app’s chatroom. You can use it to talk to your fans after an album drop, a video premiere, or a concert. You can even pop in and see what your fans are saying about you and interact with them directly. Whenever someone joins a Social Wall they will receive a notification every time someone else posts there, so everyone is included in the conversation. This is a great way for you to build and nurture your fan community.

Another great way to connect with your fans is through Push Notifications. With our system you have complete control over your notifications. You can send out scheduled notifications, create notification groups that deal with specific topics that users can subscribe to, as well as set up automatic notifications. We also have the GeoFence Feature that allows you to send out locations-based notifications. Have a show coming up in a couple of days? You can set up a notification to trigger whenever someone gets within a certain distance of the venue which can remind them of your upcoming show.

What Are Some Other Ways I Can Make My Fans Feel Included?

What’s something that fans always love? Exclusive content. And what better way to share exclusive content with your fans that to include some in your app? With our Image Gallery and Info Slider Feature you can share exclusive backstage photos, or give your fans a peek into a side of your life that they don’t typically get to see.

You can also bring in your social media pages like Facebook with our Facebook Feature, Twitter with our Twitter Feature, and Instagram with our WebView Feature. This allows you to bring all of your social media pages into one place making them more easily accessible for your fans.

How Can I Share My Media Content?

Not only can you bring all of your social media pages into one place in your app, but you can have all of your songs, videos, and miscellaneous media content available with just a single tap! Creating a special space on a fan’s phone specifically for your media is immensely helpful in nurturing their enthusiasm for your work.

With our system, you can do this through the Media Center Manual, YouTube, and Vimeo Features. With the YouTube and Vimeo features you can connect your YouTube and/or Vimeo accounts directly into your app, allowing quick and easy access to your videos.

Through the Media Center Manual Feature, you can connect audio, video, and text all into one entry. With a couple taps, your fans can switch between listening to a song, watching behind-the-scenes footage, and reading some background information on the song without having to switch between browser tabs. Really — the possibilities are endless in sharing your music.

How Can I Use The App To Create Another Revenue Stream?

It’s hard work making music, videos, and entertainment content, but what’s harder is maintaining a consistent revenue stream allowing you to make money off of doing what you love. This could come in several different forms like selling band shirts, concert tickets, and selling your actual music or content. Along with providing access to your media content, you can set up Subscription In-App Purchases so that people can pay to access that content.

Do you have an online store that sells merch? If so, we have some great features that can help you with bringing your online store into your app. With the Shopify ECommerce, WooCommerce, and WebView Features you can bring your online store into your app and make it accessible with a simple tap.

You can also use our Events Manual, Events Feed, and Places 2.0 Features to inform your fans about upcoming events. The Events Manual Feature allows you to manually input events into the in-app calendar via the App Dashboard, while the Event Feed Feature allows you to add events to the in-app calendar by syncing it with an iCal link.

With the Places 2.0 Feature you can show your fans where the upcoming events on your next tour will take place. You can even use this in conjunction with the GeoFence Feature which can help remind them of an event coming up once they get within a certain distance of the event’s location.

These are just a small handful of features that you can use in your app to help expand your reach as an artist, but we have many more in our system. We encourage you to check out all of the amazing features that we offer in our system so that you can make the best app for your brand.
