What is the Logbook Plugin?
Logbook offers users the ability to document and track various aspects of their well-being on a daily basis. In addition to journaling about their mood and feelings, users can now record health metrics such as heart rate and blood pressure. This comprehensive feature allows for multiple entries per day, providing a holistic view of one's emotional and physical health.
Common Use Cases of the Logbook Plugin
The versatility of Logbook offers a powerful reason for app users to engage with your app on a consistent basis. By integrating this plugin, you can significantly boost user interaction and retention. Below are some innovative applications of this plugin across various domains:
Self-help and Motivational Apps: Users of an app that provides daily inspirational content can reflect on their emotional responses after consuming the material. It serves as a tool for them to introspectively gauge the impact of the motivation they receive.
Fitness and Wellness Apps: Beyond tracking physical exercises, users can monitor their mood fluctuations in relation to their fitness routines, providing a comprehensive view of their overall well-being.
Employee Engagement Apps: For organizations with an internal app, Logbook can be a means for employees to record their daily sentiments. It can provide insights into how workplace events, tasks, or even specific weekdays influence their emotions.
For instance, if you operate an app offering daily motivational quotes or articles, users can subsequently log their emotional state, creating a more immersive experience. Alternatively, for an internal company app, employees might be encouraged to log their moods routinely, which could reveal patterns about their well-being and job satisfaction
How to Use the Logbook Plugin
When you first add an instance of the Plugin you will be able to setup Reminders to remind your end users to log their activities in the logbook. To enable those you will select the toggle button to the right of "Enable Reminders" and then select your remainder cadence.
With this now enabled you can select your reminder cadence up. This will send a customized gentle reminder to your end users after "X" days to log their activities.
When this is set it will look like this
In this example, if a user is inactive for 3 days the system will send them a gentle reminder via push notification to their device to remind them to log their activities.
In "Settings" you will be able to an Admin Tag so that your staff or individuals reviewing these results will be able to see them from their end. Please see our article here on Tagging for further information on setting this up.
Under this section, you have a few options to enable you to customize your own experience.
Allow Users to Change Date and Allow Users to Change Time come pre-enabled on this, you can disable them should you wish but this will prevent a user from being able to go back and record a missed day. If you wish to lock users from doing this then disable these features.
Add Title to Log Form - This will allow your users to add a tile to the form they tracking.
The next items: Add Blood Pressure, Show Blood Pressure Logs, and Add Heart Rate in Logs are not required fields. If your app is designed to track health and this is a part of what you are trying to track then enable them but if you are only tracking activities or moods, etc which do not need this information you do not need to enable them.
Change Where Data Gets Saved - You can either use our default database for this recording of this data or you can select your own database to pull in the collected data from the logbook. This article "How to generate parameters needed to connect database to logbook" will walk you through the technical steps on how to link this up.
Note: This is a blank field that you will need to fill out in order to connect the logbook to your database.
Choose a feature to connect - This plugin will allow you to connect with the Secure Chat Plugng to create a secured chat with an individual on your staff. This will require the use of Firebase and assistance with configuring it. Please reach out to Support@appdocumentation.com and we will be happy to help.
