How to use the Loyalty plugin

Reward your users and build long-term engagement with the Loyalty plugin. Create points-based rewards, track redemptions, and link to other plugins.

The Loyalty plugin lets you create a digital reward system within your app. Users can earn points through purchases, questionnaires, or other activities, then redeem those points for rewards. You can set staff approval processes, manage redemptions, and even connect the plugin with the Leaderboard to track top participants.

  • This is a Boost plugin, available on specific plans only.


How to use the Loyalty plugin

  1. Log in, go to Builder in the left navigation

  2. Click the + button to open the Plugin Marketplace

    • Search for Loyalty, then click Add Plugin

    • Name your feature and choose whether to add it to the side menu, then click Add again

  3. Stay in the Content tab

    • Click Add Manually

    • Click Add Item to create a reward

      1. Upload a listing image (recommended size for best fit will appear on screen)

      2. (Optional) Add more images in the Image Carousel

      3. Enter the Title, Cost to Redeem, and Points Earned

        1. If Cost to Redeem is blank, Points Earned cannot be left blank

        2. If Cost to Redeem is greater than zero, the item will display as a redeemable reward on the Loyalty home screen

      4. Add a description in the WYSIWYG editor

      5. Click Save to add the item

  4. Click the Design tab

    • Choose your preferred layout style

    • Add a background image or color for the item list and item details

    • Review the suggested image dimensions for the best display

  5. Click the Settings tab

    • Set the currency used for your loyalty program

    • Under Set Approval Type, choose how rewards and points are approved

      1. On-site via passcode: Staff members enter a passcode (e.g., 12345) to confirm transactions on the user’s device

      2. Remote via app: Tagged users with staff permissions can approve or decline requests directly in your own app

    • Define how users earn points:

      1. Per money spent

      2. Per item purchased

      3. From the Questionnaire plugin (when linked properly)

    • Configure:

      1. Extra points per purchase

      2. Points per dollar spent

      3. Daily and total points limit

      4. Leaderboard integration (deduct points when rewards are redeemed)

    • Customize the Get More Points button

  6. To test the On-site approval flow

    • User taps Get More Points

    • Enters purchase amount (e.g., $100) and taps Next

    • The message “Hand your device to a staff member” appears

    • Staff member enters the passcode and confirms

    • Points are added automatically (e.g., 101 total points shown)

  7. To test the Remote approval flow

    • Change Approval Type to Remote via App

    • Assign a specific tag to staff users who can approve or decline requests

    • When a user submits a new request, it appears in the staff member’s queue for approval

  8. Click the Introduction tab

    • You can add introductory text or image carousel to appears on the Loyalty home screen

  9. Click the Points/Redeem tab

    • You can review the Points & Redeem history to track all user redemptions

      1. You search for specific users or adjust the time periods

    • Click Export to download redemption data for reporting

  10. Click the Language tab

    • To adjust the default language to sound more like your brand for:

      1. Login or Register

      2. To Get Points

      3. Points

  11. Click the Security tab

    • Turn on Require Login to restrict feature access to logged-in users.

    • (Optional) Add tag-based restrictions and choose whether to match any or all tags.

  12. Click the Tagging tab

    • Enter a tag name to automatically apply to users when they open this feature

    • Click Add Tag

  13. Click the Purchase tab

    • Check Require Purchase to enable

    • Choose your product type (e.g., Single Purchase or Subscription)

    • Upload an image, fill out purchase text, and success/failure messages

  14. Click the Analytics tab to view feature performance

    • Track daily active users, top redeemers, and overall engagement for 30, 60, or 90 days


Pro tips

  • Keep reward values balanced—too low reduces excitement, too high reduces attainability

  • Always test your passcode setup before launch to ensure smooth approval flow

  • Combine Loyalty with Leaderboard or Questionnaire for gamified engagement

  • Use exports regularly to analyze reward redemption trends and user retention
