The Realtime Push Notification Push plugin allows app admins to send or schedule push notifications directly from within the app itself. It’s designed for on-the-move communication, making it ideal for educational apps, churches, e-commerce, or internal use apps that need to quickly reach their users without logging into the control panel.

Requirements

  • This is a Boost plugin, available on specific plans only

  • Push notifications must be enabled and configured for your app

  • Only logged-in users with the proper tag (for example, “Admin”) can access this feature

How to use the Realtime Push Notification Push plugin

  1. Log in, go to Builder in the left navigation

  2. Click the + button to open the Plugin Marketplace

    • Search for Realtime Push Notification Push, then click Add Plugin

    • Name your plugin (for example, “Push Manager”) and choose whether to add it to the side menu, then click Add again

  3. Test it out in the app preview:

    • Tap Add Notification

      1. Enter a Title and Message for your push notification

      2. (Optional) Add additional text or context for the message body

    • Choose your delivery method

      1. To send immediately, tap Send Now

      2. To schedule for later, select a Date and Time from the scheduler

      3. Once confirmed, your notification will be queued and sent automatically

  4. View your Notification History

    • Each sent or scheduled notification appears in a log view

    • Use this list to review previous messages or confirm successful delivery

  5. Click the Security tab

    • Turn on Require Login to restrict access to authenticated users

    • Add a tag-based restriction, such as Admin, to ensure only authorized users can send push notifications

    • Click Add Tag to confirm

  6. Test access permissions

    • Log in as a user without the Admin tag and confirm they cannot open the feature

    • Log in as an Admin-tagged user to verify full access and push capability

Pro tips

  • Keep push messages short and actionable for better engagement

  • Schedule messages for peak engagement hours (for example, morning or lunchtime)

  • Use tagging to create a secure “admin-only” broadcast area

  • Pair with Behavioral Tags to send targeted notifications to specific user groups

  • Review your push notification performance under your app’s Analytics tab for trends
