The Drip Content Plugin

The Drip Content Plugin allows app owners to control the flow of content to users, enhancing engagement and ensuring sequential learning or content consumption. With the recent updates, app owners can now require users to complete specific actions to access subsequent content. This guide will walk you through the process of using these new features.

How to use the Drip Content Plugin:

  1. Click on 'Add Slide': Start by adding a new slide in your Drip Content Plugin.

  2. Specify the Needed Action: For each slide, you can specify an action that the user must complete to access the next slide. For example, answering a Free Text Question (FTQ).

  3. Enable 'Require Deeplink to Unlock': Scroll to the bottom of the slide settings and toggle on the 'Require Deeplink to Unlock' option. Repeat this step for the second slide as well.

Note: You’ll eventually be adding multiple slides to the sequence. For example, if you’re creating a 21-day workout challenge, you’ll have at least 21 slides.

Each slide will contain some form of content containing an action.

Once you've added your Action, Action Slide Title, and Description you can press save to release that content or schedule it to be released at a later time.

Step 2: Schedule your content

After you've added your content, you'll need to schedule it to be released to your app users.

Click on the content you want to schedule, and choose the date and time you want it to be released.

Fill in the form fields for when you want the next slide to be available.

The local notification will appear within the app once the next slide is available.

For example, let’s say an app user completes the first day of a workout sequence. Based on the settings in the previous step, day two won’t be available until tomorrow. When that same user opens the app the next day, they’ll see the local notification customized in this step.

In this case, “Today’s workout is ready!” fits perfectly.

Setting Up FTQ (Free Text Question)

  1. Click on add slide

  2. Specify the needed action and scroll all the way down and toggle the require deeplink to unlock

  3. Do the same thing for the second slide

  4. Then in the FTQ settings tab - actions items modify the score to be between 0 and any higher value

5. Click on Edit action and select the drip content plugin you are using

6. Then click on the check mark for deep link to feature content, select the first action slide title

Activate Next Slide Timer

  • Understanding 'Activate Next Slide in': If this feature is activated, users must wait for a set timer to elapse, even after completing the FTQ, before they can access the next slide.

Global Deep Linking

  • Plugin-Wide Settings: Unlike slide-specific deep linking, Global Deep Linking is a setting that applies across the plugin. It works for all slides unless a slide has its own deep link option.

  • Setting Up Global Deep Linking: Toggle on 'Unlock Slide With Deep Linking' to enable this feature. A Global Deep Link will be registered and can be selected from the Action Item Builder. This is particularly useful for action items like a Free Text Questionnaire, allowing it to open all slides with a Global Deep Link.

By following these steps, you can effectively use the Drip Content Plugin to create a more interactive and controlled content experience for your app users. The new updates provide a robust way to ensure that users are engaging with the content as intended.

Pro Tips For the Drip Content Plugin

Pro Tip 1: Leverage Behavior Tagging

Add behavior tags to your slides. You can manage this from the “Tagging” tab within the plugin settings.

By pairing the behavior tags with actions, each time users complete a slide within your sequence, the progress will automatically be saved to their profile.

For example, let’s say one of your actions links to the Free Text Questionnaire plugin. If you have a behavioral tag on that questionnaire, that tag would be applied to the user profile. So if the survey was tagged with something like “Day 10” of a 30-day challenge, then you’d know exactly where users were in the sequence.

Pro Tip 2: View User Analytics

In addition to behavior tagging specific actions, you can always navigate to the “Analytics” tag to see how far along users are within the sequence of the slides. You can get daily statistics over a 30, 60, or 90 day period. The analytics tab will even help identify your top users.

Overall, this information can be vital for determining how successful your slides are.

If you have 30 slides, and none of the app users are getting past slide #10, you may want to go back and make changes to get people further along in the sequence.

Pro Tip 3: Monetize

The Drip Content plugin is great for those of you looking for ways to monetize your app.

You can use it to create slides within a single purchase app. Alternatively, you can create slides with in-app purchases or in-app subscriptions for access to content. All of this can be managed within the “Purchase” tab of the plugin settings.

In summary, the Drip Content Plugin is a powerful tool for delivering content to your app users over time. If you have any questions about the Drip Content plugin please reach out to Suport@appdocumentatin.com
