The Action Folder plugin helps you organize multiple action items in one place while giving users built-in search functionality for faster navigation. Unlike a regular folder that just lists items, this plugin allows users to search instantly and interact with content such as links, phone numbers, emails, or other app features — all from one smart, searchable screen.

Requirements

  • This is a Boost plugin, available on specific plans only.

How to use the Action Folder plugin

  1. Log in, go to Builder in the left navigation

  2. Click the + button to open the Plugin Marketplace

    • Search for Action Folder, then click Add Plugin

    • Name your feature and choose whether to add it to the side menu, then click Add again

  3. Stay in the Content tab

    • You’ll see a search bar at the top of the list. You can enable or disable this search bar

    • You can customize the placeholder text (e.g., “Search here” or “Browse resources”)

    • Click Add Action Item to create a new item

      1. Fill in the Title (required) — this appears in your list view

      2. (Optional) Add a Description to display additional details below the title

      3. Choose an Action to assign, such as:
        i. Open a link or webpage
ii. Navigate to another feature in your app
iii. Send an email or SMS
        iv. Call a phone number
        v. Add to calendar or perform other app actions

      4. Upload or choose an Image to represent the item visually

      5. Click Save

    • To reorder or manage items

      1. Drag and drop items to rearrange their order

      2. (Optional) Enable Shuffle Items to randomize order each time the feature opens (overrides manual sorting)

      3. Click the pencil icon to edit or the X button to delete an item

  4. Test your action

    • Click the new item you just created in the App Preview

    • Confirm it performs the linked action correctly (e.g., opens a specific screen, sends an email, etc.)

  5. Click the Design tab

    • Customize the layout and appearance of your Action Folder

    • Adjust background colors, fonts, and item styling to fit your app’s design

  6. Click the Security tab

    • Turn on Require Login to restrict feature access to logged-in users

    • (Optional) Add tag-based restrictions and choose whether to match any or all tags

  7. Click the Tagging tab

    • Enter a tag name to automatically apply to users when they open this feature

    • Click Add Tag

  8. Click the Purchase tab

    • Check Require Purchase to enable

    • Choose your product type (e.g., Single Purchase or Subscription)

    • Upload an image, fill out purchase text, and success/failure messages

  9. Click the Analytics tab to view feature performance

    • Track total opens, user engagement, and action click data

Pro tips

  • Keep action titles short and intuitive for quick scanning

  • Use the search bar when you have long lists of actions or links

  • Combine related resources (like FAQs, forms, or links) in a single folder to simplify navigation

  • Regularly review analytics to see which actions users engage with most
