In this article we’ll go over what information we need in order to transfer an app from one developer account to another. The reason for doing so can vary from a change in ownership of an app to making an app more compliant with Apple and Google’s latest app store guidelines.

First let’s go over what we need to transfer an app from one Apple developer account to another.

In order to transfer an app from one Apple developer account to another, we’ll need access to both accounts. If you’re transferring an app from an account registered as an Individual to another account registered as an Individual, then all we need are the log-in credentials for both accounts.

If you’re transferring an app from an account registered as an Individual to an account registered as a Company/Organization or vice versa, you will need to make sure that for the account registered as a Company/Organization that we have the credentials for the Technical Owner of the account as they have the correct Legal Role to initiate the transfer.

Developer accounts that were registered as an Individual will already have that role assigned to them.

Note: Depending on if Two Factor Authentication is enabled in the Apple developer accounts, you may need to schedule a call with us so that we can obtain the code that Apple sends you in order to gain access to the Apple developer accounts.

Next we’ll go over what we need to transfer an app from one Google developer account to another.

In order to transfer an app from one Google developer account to another Google developer account, we will need the following information for both accounts:

Note: The Transaction ID is included in the Receipt sent to the account owner by Google when they first enrolled in the Google developer program.
