What is the Tagging Tab?
In the Feature Editor, the Tagging Tab allows you add Behavioral Tags that will automatically be applied to users' profiles whenever they enter into that plugin.
What are Behavioral Tags?
Behavioral Tags are User Tags that are automatically added to user’s profiles and can help you see how people navigate throughout your app. It’s also a great way to see how many people access a section of your app and which areas are most popular.
If you are looking to use tags to restrict access to a plugin, you’ll want to use Security Tags, which you can set up in the Security Tab.

What are some use cases of Behavioral Tags?
Some use cases of this feature include:
You can use behavioral tags to tell you who your most active users are. This is a great opportunity to engage with your users and encourage them to promote your app through rewards and incentives.
With behavioral tags, you can see which sections of your app are visited the least. This can help you improve those areas of the app to make a better overall user experience.
You can use behavioral tags to send out targeted push notifications to all users who have visited a section of your app.
What is the Tagging Tab’s primary function and what are the steps to accomplish it?
The Tagging Tab allows you to assign Behavioral Tags that will automatically be applied to user’s profiles. Now that you know how the Tagging Tab and Behavioral Tags are used, let’s go over how to set them up.
Step 1: Click on the Tagging Tab
When you’re working on a plugin that you’d like to apply a Behavioral Tag to, click on the Tagging Tab in the Feature Editor.
Step 2: Type in the tag name
Type the name of the tag that you want to use in the “Add a tag” field.
Note: If you have spaces in your tag name they will automatically be removed, so we recommend typing in the tag name as one word such as “ActiveUser” instead of “Active User”.
Step 3: Click Add Tag
Once you’ve entered in a tag name, click the “Add Tag” button and the tag will be applied to that plugin. Now, whenever a user is logged-in to their in-app profile and they enter into that plugin, that tag will be applied to them.
All of our stock plugins have a Tagging Tab, so you can apply Behavioral Tags to any of them. Once you’ve added a Behavioral Tag in the system, it will also show up in the User Tagging Page.
If you would like to see how often a tag has been applied to a user, you can do so in the User Management Page. If you would like to learn more about how to do this, you can do so here.

Having worked with apps for years, we’ve learned a thing or two. So, to both help your app stand out and accomplish your primary goals, here are some tips you should consider.
Pro Tip 1: You Can Use the Behavioral Tags to send Targeted Notifications
As users have behavioral tags applied to their profiles, you can set up a Custom Segment in the Notifications Page to send out a notification to all users with that tag. If you would like to learn more about how to set up a Custom Segment, you can do so here.
Pro Tip 2: Use the Analytical Side of Behavioral Tags to your advantage
In the User Management Page, not only can you see how often a tag has been applied to a user, but you can also see when the first and last time it was applied. You can use this information to learn how recently someone accessed that section of your app.
