How to use the Countdown Timer plugin

Add a fully functional, customizable countdown timer to your app for workouts, meditation, challenges, or any time-based activity.

The Countdown Timer plugin lets users set, start, pause, and stop countdowns directly inside your app. It’s flexible, simple to use, and supports custom alerts, sound cues, and color themes—making it ideal for fitness, wellness, or productivity-focused apps.

How to use the Countdown Timer plugin

  1. Log in, go to Builder in the left navigation

  2. Click the + button to open the Plugin Marketplace

    • Search for Countdown Timer, then click Add Plugin

    • Name your feature and choose whether to add it to the side menu, then click Add again

  3. In the Content tab:

    • You can enable optional Sound Alerts to notify users when time is halfway or nearly complete

      1. Choose a Halfway, 3-second or 5-second countdown warning

      2. These alerts announce the final seconds (e.g., “3…2…1…time’s up”)

  4. In the Design tab:

    • Check off Use Custom Colors to select a background

      1. Click into the Color Box

    • Check off Progress Bar Colors to update the progress bar

      1. Click into the Color Box

  5. To test it yourself in the App Preview:

    • Set the available countdown durations. Choose from predefined options like 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, or up to 60 minutes

    • Once added, users can Start, Pause, or Stop the timer

    • The display automatically shows both Time Elapsed and Time Remaining.

  6. Click the Security tab:

    • Turn on Require Login to restrict access to logged-in users

    • (Optional) Add tag-based restrictions and choose whether to match any or all tags

  7. Click the Tagging tab:

    • Enter a tag name to automatically apply to users when they open this feature

    • Click Add Tag.

  8. Click the Purchase tab:

    • Check Require Purchase to enable

    • Choose your product type (e.g., Single Purchase or Subscription)

    • Upload an image, fill out purchase text, and success/failure messages

  9. Click the Analytics tab to see feature performance:

    • View total sessions, active users, and timer usage over time

  • Enable short sound cues for focus-based sessions like meditation or study timers.

  • Match timer colors with your brand palette for a cohesive app design.

  • Test your timer durations and alerts on mobile for best performance.
