As you know, Push Notifications are awesome. You can send messages right to your users' devices just like a text message and then link them to an action you want them to follow.

If you haven't checked out our Push Notification tutorial, you should definitely do so.

This article will cover both Standard Push Notification Analytics and Advanced Push Notification Analytics. Both will give you insight into certain analytical data around your Push Notifications, but the Advanced Analytics  will take you to a whole new level of engagement.

What are some use cases of the Standard Push Notification Analytics?

Some use cases of this feature include:

  • See which notifications get the highest read rate

  • See which Push Notifications are most engaging and refine your messaging accordingly

  • See which Push Notifications have the highest CTR (click through rate) to find which actions your users find most interesting

What are some use cases of the Advanced Push Notification Analytics?

Some use cases of this feature include:

  • See which of your employees have opened specific push notifications and, therefore, which have not.

  • Run a contest and reward a random user with a prize. Hint: This is also a great way to get them to turn their notifications on.

  • See which Push Notifications are most engaging and refine your messaging accordingly.

What are the Standard Push Notification Analytics’ primary functions and what are the steps to access them?

Our Standard Push Notification Analytics provide some amazing functionality as described in the introduction, but read on to see what some of the core features are and how to set them up.

  • The number of devices to which it was sent

  • The number of notifications that were opened. Note: the actual number of notifications viewed will be more than was is represented here because users can read a notification on their lock screen or notification center, but never actually "open" it

  • How many users clicked on your action (if you included one)

  • What your notification's CTR (click through rate) is, which is calculated by the number of users who opened the notification divided by the number of those who clicked on your action (again, if you included one)

What are some Pro Tips you should know about to take your app to the next level?

Having worked with apps for years, we’ve learned a thing or two. So, to both help your app stand out and accomplish your primary goals, here are some tips you should consider.

Pro Tip 1: Send Push Notifications your users want to receive
Sending out engaging, relevant push notifications is critical to a high read rate and a high click through rate. Though you're the one who comes up with what exactly they say, luckily, we've built the system so that you can target your users by either using groups (to which they can subscribe) or by using custom segments through which you can target your users based on tags, emails, signup date range, etc.

You can learn more about both of these methods in our dedicated Push Notification Tutorial article.

Pro Tip 2: Let your users know why they should enable Push Notifications for your app
Your users will ultimately have the option to receive notifications from you... or not. So let them know why you're going to be sending them notifications and why they'll want to hear from you. Explain to them the benefits and watch your notification read rate skyrocket.
